Funeral

The Funeral rites entrust the departed to God’s mercy and give thanks for the gift of their life. In hope of the Resurrection, the Church gathers to pray, to grieve, and to commend them to eternal rest.

Planning a Funeral at St Joseph

We extend our sympathy and prayers to families who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The parish is here to support you with care and guidance during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements are usually made through a funeral director, who will contact the parish to confirm availability and make the necessary arrangements. A meeting will then be arranged with the family to plan the funeral liturgy, including readings, prayers, and music.

Arranging a Funeral at St Joseph

If a loved one has passed away, the usual steps are:

First, contact a funeral director.

They will assist with practical arrangements and liaise with the parish.

The funeral director will contact the parish to agree on a date and time for the service.

Then meet with the parish priest or parish representative to prepare the funeral liturgy, including readings, prayers, and music.

If you would prefer to speak with the parish directly at any stage, please contact:
