Anointing of the Sick
The Anointing of the Sick brings Christ’s healing presence to those who are seriously ill or frail. Through prayer and anointing, the Church asks for strength, peace, and the grace to endure suffering with hope.
When to Request the Sacrament
This sacrament is offered to those who are seriously ill, preparing for surgery, weakened by age, or facing significant health challenges. It may be received more than once if a person’s condition changes.
Anointing is not only for the final moments of life, but for anyone in need of spiritual strength and comfort during illness.
